Dear MES student guardian, Multiple children have become ill while at school today. Symptoms that we have observed in students that have resulted in them getting sent home are: Stomach aches Headaches Throwing up And fevers. If your child becomes ill, prompt medical attention or treatment may help resolve the illness. It may be necessary to keep him/her at home until the symptoms resolve or until your child receives treatment. Those who get flu-like symptoms at school should go home and stay home until at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever or signs of a fever without the use of fever-reducing medicine. Those who have emergency warning signs should get immediate medical care. By notifying you of this possible exposure, we are providing the best possible care for your child. When we notify you of an illness, we are trying to control the spread and prevent new cases of illness. We try to keep our children healthy and happy while at school. We will be increasing the disinfecting classrooms, drinking fountains, and other areas that are touched by students. There will also be increased efforts to wash and sanitize hands. As well as masks for students and families who request access to them. We appreciate any considerations you make to help support the healthy climate here at MES. Please reach out to the school with any follow-up questions.

Dear Parents, I thought that a quick note should be sent regarding your children being sent home with their Chromebooks. It is MES' procedure that when there is a Winter Storm Warning we send Chromebooks home with students. If there was to be an actual Snow Day we would send you a message through this same platform that I am using right now. Most likely this would be done the morning of the virtual Snow Day. If you have any questions about this process please email me at jolson@sjsd.org or call the school at (435)678-1180. Thank you for your support in this process. Stay safe!

It is the time of year where each child needs to bring a coat to school every day. We send students out to recess 99.5% of the days and we would like everyone to be comfortable outside. If you could please remember to send your child with a coat that has their name in it, we would really appreciate it. Our lost and found is already getting pretty big. If you need anything from us please reach out at (435)678-1180. Keep warm!

We just noticed that there was a misprint in the newsletter. The watertruck celebration is not until tomorrow September 6th at 1230. Students do not have to participate if the don't want to get wet, but there will be popsicles for all students. Have a great day.
