It is the school’s position that gang activities that threaten the safety or well-being of persons or property on school grounds, or disrupt the school environment are harmful to the educational process.  For these reasons, the following activities are prohibited and shall subject any student engaging in them to disciplinary action:

  • Any activity involving an initiation, hazing, intimidation, assault, or other activity related to gang affiliation;

  • Any student wearing, carrying, or displaying gang paraphernalia and/or exhibiting behavior or gestures that symbolize gang membership, or causing and/or participating in activities that intimidate other students, or disrupt the regular school day;

  • The use of hand signals, graffiti, or the presence of any apparel, jewelry, accessories, or manner of dress or grooming that, by virtue of its color, arrangement, trademark, symbol, or any other attributes signifies membership or affiliation with a gang.  In particular, no bandannas, baggy pants with oversized pockets, or pipes, belts, chains that hang down more than 5 inches.
